First Reads is a unique service for writers who need an objective and productive evaluation of their manuscript.

Your manuscript will be closely examined by Barbara Villasenor, who has over 30 years of experience in various aspects of literature.

Every part of your manuscript will be addressed. such as plot, character development, flow, pace and dialog. A keen eye will be employed for inappropriate word usage, rough transitions, repetition, overwriting, and gaps in the storyline. All are common problems with many manuscripts, no matter how accomplished the writer.

Close attention will be paid to the structure of your story while suggesting productive methods to organize and enrich what you have written, all the while respecting your particular voice and style. When the process is complete, you will receive a thorough evaulation with suggestions and solutions.
